Holden Dippledorf is a recurring character on Liv and Maddie. He is the Rooney Family's neighbor. He had a crush on Liv Rooney in 3rd Grade, and Holden still likes her, and they finally became a couple in the episode of Coach-A-Rooney. His mother also has a dispute with Karen Rooney.

In the episode Prom-A-Rooney, Andie (Liv's best friend) asks Holden (just as Liv was about to), to the prom, and of course, Holden says yes. Though Liv likes Holden she pretends to be excited for Andie, even though inside she's heartbroken, however Liv’s twin sister Maddie is there to support her sister.

Their relationship continued through episodes Band-A-Rooney to Triangle-A-Rooney. He and Liv became a couple in Coach-A-Rooney until their break up in Scoop-A-Rooney.

Holden is portrayed by Jordan Fisher.

Not much is known about Holden but in the 3rd Grade, he was fairly mischievous in that he stole Liv's Goodbye Puppy pen (Because he liked her). It's shown many times that Holden is very honest towards others such that he does not like to lie on TV.

In Neighbors-A-Rooney, Holden arrives at the Rooney House looking for his mother's giraffe statue that the Rooney's had stolen. Before showing up in Neighbors-A-Rooney, he went to a boarding school.

Physical Appearance

Holden has curly dark brown hair and brown eyes.

Liv describes him as cuool (a mixture of cute and cool) when she was talking to Willow because she didn't want Willow to know that she liked Holden yet.

Strengths and Weaknesses

Holden can sing and play the piano and guitar. He is also a good actor although, he admits that he wasn't acting when he was rehearsing lines with Liv (confessing that he would wait for her, howeve long it took)

Liv is his weakness as he said that he could never be mad at her. He is also incapable of lying. Because of this, it's hard for him to tell the truth without hurting others' feelings, and ends up having to when under pressure.

Liv Rooney

(Close Friend/Ex-Girlfriend/Possible Future Girlfriend)

Holden had a crush on Liv in the 3rd Grade. They were originally enemies due to Liv holding a grudge on him for taking her Goodbye Puppy pen, but they grew closer, and eventually developed feelings for each other. He felt something more between him and Liv, but since he was not aware if she felt the same, he soon started dating Liv’s friend Andie in Prom-A-Rooney. Liv was heartbroken as she lost her chance with him and it was difficult for her to be around him, due to her strong feelings for him. She even wrote a song called "True Love" about him, regarding how she lost her chance to be with him. Liv’s twin sister Maddie was there to support her sister through the tough time.

Holden and Liv about to share their first kiss!

Soon, Holden came to realize that the more time he was spending with Andie, the more it made him realize his true feelings for Liv. In Triangle-A-Rooney, Holden and Liv's feelings became more clear, as they both came close to sharing their first kiss while singing True Love together, but were interrupted and caught by Willow. Holden then admits his true feelings for Liv and she admits hers in return but says to him that they can't date as it would only further hurt Andie's feelings. Both Liv and Holden are heartbroken of the situation, proving how strong their feelings are to each other. They become a couple in Coach-A-Rooney as Andie says it would be fine if they were dating. The two break up in Scoop-A-Rooney after Liv lies about not having a boyfriend, which causes Holden to become upset with her, causing him to break up with her.

Liv and Holden met each other back when they were children in third grade. Liv held a grudge towards Holden for years as he stole her Goodbye Puppy Pen, but after reuniting with him when he came home from boarding school, he returned her pen, and Liv developed strong feelings towards him. Holden also came to realize that there was something more between him and Liv, although both of them were too afraid to confess their feelings. Liv attempted to do so, however, by planning to ask Holden to prom. Unfortunately, she was heartbroken when Andie, a very good friend of hers, beat her to it and began dating Holden. Liv was always nervous when she was around Holden, but decided to be a good friend to Andie and tried to keep her feelings for him buried.

The more time he spent with Andie, though, the more Holden was able to come to grips with his true feelings for Liv. The pair's feelings for each other kept growing stronger to the point where they almost shared their first kiss after singing a duet of 'True Love' together. Holden finally realized his true feelings for Liv in that they were much stronger than his for Andie, and decided to break up with Andie. To his misfortune, his original plan to end his relationship with Andie after The Dream's segment on Nimbus at Night did not work out as he accidentally ended things between them during the live segment. After the show, Liv and Holden finally admitted their feelings for each other. Sadly, Liv and Holden couldn't be together as Andie was already deeply upset from the breakup and them dating would only further upset her, leaving the pair heartbroken.

However, they retain their deep feelings for each other as Holden attempted to get closer to Liv by auditioning as her love interest in "Voltage". Sadly, Holden didn't get the part but told Liv that he would wait for her. Eventually, they officially become a couple in Coach-A-Rooney, after Andie assured Liv that she no longer had any romantic feelings towards Holden, thus allowing them to finally be together.

They were extremely happy upon finally getting together as they spent much time together, wanting to make up for all the time they had lost waiting to be with each other. However, their relationship sadly came to an end in Scoop-A-Rooney, after Liv lied about not having a boyfriend in an interview. While Liv explained to Holden she wanted to protect their relationship from the media, Holden became very upset with her and started to rethink their relationship. Eventually, everything worsened as the media released a photo of Josh and Maddie together, believing Maddie to be Liv and making everyone believe Liv and Josh were dating. While Liv promised Holden she would fix the situation, Maddie asked Liv to keep it a secret for the time being as she didn't want Diggie to discover the news of her relationship with Josh. Liv explained to Holden about what happened, but Holden was tired of having their relationship come second to everything else, causing him to break up with Liv. At the end of Scoop-A-Rooney Holden tells Liv he feels bad about breaking up the way they did and brings a cake as an apology to Liv with sitting on her porch swing of her house. Holden was sitting on her porch swing for 4 or 5 hours and Liv drove around his house 6 times. This proves as well they still have feelings as they feel bad.

Andie Bustamante

(Close Friend/Ex-Girlfriend/Bandmate)

Holden and Andie went to prom together in Prom-A-Rooney and they started dating in that episode. They broke up in Triangle-A-Rooney because he realized he didn't share her interests in motor-sports, and other automotive-related subjects. Andie finally accepted that, and later encouraged Liv to go out with Holden.

Josh Willcox

(Good Friend)

Holden and Josh met in Co-Star-A-Rooney when they both auditioned to be Liv's love interest in Voltage. They were seen talking after Josh got the part and Holden didn't. Holden was okay that Josh got the part and it was assumed they were friends. The two are seen hanging out together in Scoop-A-Rooney, showing they have become friends.
